Where have we been?

You have been wondering...where are they, BlueStone Ivory that is? Well, since Friday night August 15th in Reading Ohio we played our last outdoor gig (private party) at Northern Ky University for their Faculty and staff family picnic this past Wednesday afternoon.

For those who were at the Reading concert, Here's what happened. You will appreciate these photo's. These are the only pictures we have from the Reading concert. My regular photographer couldn't attend that night.

Just in case you are all wondering what these photos are...they are photo's of the stage in the black out. Just after we turned on our lighting system a large 1,000 watt yard light came on that was on the same 100 amp circuit and the fuse blew and we lost all power. It took the electrician 30 minutes to get us up and running again.

What did we do? Well, most of us took the opportunity to visited with you all. We are so happy everyone stayed and therefor we played an extra 30 min for you.

This is a photo of the stage they provided at N. Ky University. The next picture is of Rusty, his daughter Laura and her husband David that is a member of the faculty. Laura looks just like her mom (Thank God) but is just like her dad. Well, two out of three isn't bad.

Now you are probably wondering about these photo's. Dave had to park the truck in such a tight place between two walls that he needed to exit thought the door like Luke and Bo from Dukes of Hazard.

Oh well, the show must go on. That is the standard motto with BSI, The Show must go on no matter what.

Speaking of shows...BlueStone Ivory will be performing this Friday and Saturday  August 29 and 30 at Jim & Jack's, 3456 River Road in Riverside from 9:00 PM till 1:00 AM each night.

It has been several weeks since we have played at a club. We are ready to come back inside to play again.

BlueStone Ivory charting new ground this week

BlueStone Ivory has to go to great lengths to top last Friday's performance in Blue Ash. Those who were in attendance witnessed an outstanding performance by both Second Wind and BSI. I'm sure no one knew about the equipment snafu's and other production conflicts that made things challenging during sound check. But we got through it and can brag a little about the end result. Unfortunately, I was so busy just getting through sound check I didn't have time or energy to set up my video camera or portable audio recorder. Regretfully, I have nothing to look back on or listen to except for a few great photo's Mary Jo took throughout the night. Here are a few:

We had 3 - 4 thousand people at Blue Ash Friday night. It was one of the largest crowds they had this year for their Friday night concert series.

This is one of our very young fans waving the American flag we handed out for God Bless The USA. And Mandy signing for the deaf in the crowd.

BlueStone Ivory will be in Reading Ohio this Friday night playing one of the very first concerts for the City of Reading. It will be held at Koenig Park, 1000 Market Street, Reading Ohio 45215. We will be playing 2 sets from 7:30 PM till 9:30 PM.

We suggest you bring your lawn chairs or blankets and plan to have a great time downtown Reading Ohio this Friday night.

Blast of Brass is in Blue Ash tonight...Don't miss it

Tonight in Blue Ash will be the final performance of the Blast Of Brass featuring SECOND WIND and BLUESTONE IVORY together on the same stage.

The show begins at 8:00PM at the Theatre on the Square in Blue Ash at the corner of Cooper Rd and Kenwood Rd.

 

Blue Ash says they have had record breaking crowds at the Friday night concerts so you will want to get there early for a good seat.

We have had a blast putting this show together. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have.

BSI plays for a bucket of chicken

This Wednesday BlueStone Ivory will be playing at the Greenhills at the Commons Concert series in the Gazebo at 17 Farragot Road from 7:00 PM till 9:00 PM. This is our 3rd time back at the concert series and we always have a great time. This year we have asked for a raise. We need two buckets of Chicken instead of one.

This is a finger licken good concert. So load up your lawn chairs or blankets. Pack a picnic basket and come on out for a great concert.

BSI Fan of the Month

Each month we plan on featuring one of our loyal fans as Fan of the Month. We will, with their permission of course, tell you a little about them and why they were picked fan of the month.

For the month of July 2008, our Fan of the month is Carol Schilling.

Carol is a native Cincinnatian who married her high school sweetheart, helped put him through college, had three children, moved to California and Illinois, Settled in Finneytown, and moved to Memphis for a job change with P&G. Cancer struck her husband while they were in Memphis and he passed away in 1995. In 1996, Carol moved back to Cincinnati to be close to her younger daughter. She lived in Mason for 6 years then moved to South Lebanon.

Besides golf, reading and attending BSI performances, her passion is traveling. Since 1996 Carol has been to at least 33 countries plus Alaska and Hawaii and almost all of the Caribbean Islands.

In February of 2007, she and her daughter opened a franchise called "Dinner by Design" located in Maineville. Working there has meant there is less traveling nowadays.

Carol has 6 grandchildren, ranging in age from 9 to 24 and she still plans family visits when BSI takes a break. Her son and her three granddaughters have been to BSI shows and she's still trying to get the rest of the family on the "Band" wagon. All the others have been treated to DVD's of the band.

Some might consider Carol a little obsessed with her favorite band. To show her deep devotion to BSI, she got a tattoo in May, 2008. That didn't turn out too well.

Carol most recently bought vanity plates with none-other than her interpretation of BlueStone Ivory. At least those won't get infected and take 2 months to heal.

You can always count on Carol to be sitting in the front row or darn near the front row of almost all of BlueStone Ivory performances. In fact it was One Year ago this month, Keehner Park concert of 2007 that Carol attended her first BlueStone Ivory experience. She has been hooked ever since.  

Carol says she is fortunate to have 2 families...her kids and grandkids plus BSI band, crew and wives. "Can life get any better than this? I think not!"

She is so happy she attended that first BSI concert at Keehner Park in 2007. The world is a brighter place with BlueStone Ivory in it.

Carol wants to remind everyone that her favorite band BlueStone Ivory will be performing on the main stage at St Johns Parish festival in West Chester tonight beginning at 7:30 PM and playing till 11:30 PM.

BlueStone Ivory will be playing in Greenhills on the commons at Winton Rd and Farragut Rd this Wednesday Night August 6th from 7:00 PM till 9:00 PM
