It's almost Halloween...and then some!

Well, Halloween is almost upon us again this year.  We are hoping for a great crowd at the Pirates Den II in Lawrenceburg Indiana this Friday & Saturday nights. The fun will start at around 9:00 pm and Friday, Halloween, we will have our annual costume contest just before midnight. All the details are on our website. There are several great prizes for the best and scariest costumes.

Here is another gig I would like to bring to your attention. Next Friday November 7th BSI is playing for a benefit in Newport Kentucky. It will be at the Reserve IMAX Room at Newport on the Levee.

BlueStone Ivory will be really doing it up right to help the Yearlings efforts to raise money. All the proceeds will be going to Redwood and Campbell County Seniors Center, The Northern Kentucky Leadership Foundation and The Yearlings Scholarship Funds.

The food will be a showcase of many local restaurants. They will have an exciting Live Auction featuring helicopter adventure with Sheriff Simon Leis. Plus an amazing silent auction and a cash raffle will be going on throughout the evening.

You don't have to come in costume but we highly recommend it if you want to join in on all the fun.

This is BlueStone Ivory at our Halloween Party last year. 

That's us...your favorite band ready for Trick or Treat. You'll need to come out this Friday night at the Pirates Den II and see how we dress up for this Halloween.

There will be a costume contest. The Pirates Den has a fabulous First place prize, $75.00 Second place prize and $50.00 third place prize for the best costumes. We will have the contest at around 11:30 on our second break.

Look close, from left to right starting in the back row the masked cowboy is Keith, Doug peeking out with the yellow hard hat construction worker, and Jim the Lumber Jack. The center row is Rick as the Ugly monster, Lee as his grandma, Gary the clown, Ted the rock star and Rusty the WWI fighter pilot. The front row is Mark as the masked avenger and Dave...well you know Dave, he was the bloody skeleton.

So Make your plans to join us at the Pirates Den II this Friday and Saturday night. If you come out this Friday night you don't need to dress up in costume...but you'll miss out on all the fun. I'm sure there will be a costume or two left over on Saturday night also.

If you haven't been to the Pirates Den II you have to make the trip. It's not that far. About 1.5 miles from the Argosy Casino. They have lots of room, a very large dance floor and a great stage for the band. This is our first time there and we are really looking forward to it. So come on out and join us.

We are all back and ready to GO!

It's been awhile since I've been able to blog. Mary Jo, Myself and many members of BSI and families left 10 days ago to take a little vacation together. This year we went on a 4 day cruise to Key West Florida and then on to Cozumel Mexico. This is something we try and do each year to just get away from the hussle and bussle of Cincinnati life and enjoy each others company away from the norm.

The first photo is the Lido deck of our ship Carnaval Imagination leaving the Harbor in Miami Florida. It shows the swimming pool, hot tubs, music stage and the many lounge chairs with people sunning. The next photo is Mark, Mary Jo and Doug enjoying the sun and wind in the air as we are departing. The third photo is me in front of our ship just before departing from the dock in Cozumel Mexico.

As we finish unpacking and gather all the different photos of the trip we will share more with everyone.

The important thing is that we are all back home and ready to ROCK-N-ROLL!

We will be playing all your favorite dance tunes beginning at 9:00 PM Friday and Saturday and ending at 1:00 AM both nights. We have been rehearsing a bit since the summer concerts and have added a few new tunes and brought back a few from the past we haven't played for a long time. They are like new songs to many of you.

So come out early and enjoy a great dinner. Jim & Jack's are known for great their food and excellent entertainment. You may want to call early and make a reservation. BSI Fan of the Month

It's that time of month again. Where has September gone?  Each month we plan on featuring one of our special friends as Fan of the Month. We will, with their permission of course, tell you a little about them and why they were picked fan of the month.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 This month we would like to feature Ted's Lil sister Tina. She says she is very proud to have that title. Usually, not all the time but usually we will hear that loud shout from the audience "FREE BIRD" and then we know that Dave, Tina's husband is there. That has become Dave's trade mark with us.

Sorry Dave but we have picked Tina as our "Fan of the Month". You just happened to be married to her and in the picture. 

Why Tina?

• because we want to,
• because we love to see her in the audience,
• because she always dances,
• because she loves "Touch Me" by "The Doors" (One of my favorite also),
• because she is Ted's Lil sister.
• Because it is her birthday on October 23rd   HAPPY BIRTHDAY TINA
• Most importantly because we want to.

In the first photo you will see all Dononhoue's Dancing together.  There is one of Ted's other sisters Diana, Dave, Tim & Tod (two of Ted's brothers) and Tina. Many times each year we can look out on the dance floor and see it filled with Donohoue's. That's not uncommon because they are a very close family. In fact Tina says she is a very family oriented person. She enjoys spending as much time with family as possible.

She first went to hear Ted play when she was 19 years old and she was hooked. Of course Tina is a little too young to remember the original BlueStone Ivory. But she says "I couldn't have been happier when BSI reformed in 1999". And we can always count on Tina to show up many, many times throughout the year.

When Tina isn't dancing to BSI she and her husband Dave love to watch their two sons Tyler (11) and Zach (9) play soccer. Her and Dave love to play cornhole too. In fact they are really hard to beat...if you have ever had the opportunity to play with them. For the past couple of years Tina and Dave have played in a cornhole tournaments where the proceeds go to the Easter Seals Work Resource program. They are a wonderful organization that create job opportunities for people with disabilities and disadvantages.

We would like to say THANK YOU TINA! For always coming out to see and hear BlueStone Ivory. You have an addictive smile that we all love.

We Hope to see Tina at the Clermont County Pumpkin Run this Saturday night. BlueStone Ivory will be performing on the main stage with JD Hughes of WGRR radio in the large Multi Purpose building at the Clermont County Fairgrounds, 1000 Locust Street, Owensville, OHIO, 45160, beginning at 8:00 pm right after the famous cornbread and bean dinner.
