Are you ready to Rock-N-Roll?

BlueStone Ivory will be taking their Rock-N-Soul, Rhythm-N-Roll to downtown Montgomery this Saturday night. This is our first time at Carlo & Johnny and hope it will not be the last. 

If you want top notch food...especially steak, you can't find a better restaurant than Carlo & Johnny. Unless you are dining at one of Jeff Ruby's other steak houses. However this Saturday we will be at 9769 Montgomery Road in the heart of downtown Montgomery. It doesn't get much better than this. Carlo & Johnny and BSI.

The festivities begin at 9:00 pm and we will be playing till 1:00 am. If you plan on coming for dinner you can arrive anytime after 5:00 pm. They serve dinner till 11:00 pm. We suggest you call ahead for reservations 936-8600.

                    

Wait...there's more. How about a little BSI nostalgia?

Many of you have heard us talk about the old days of the original BlueStone Ivory playing at Riverfront Stadium after a Cincinnati Reds Game. Well, I found a photo of "Sound On Stage" the name we went by just before we became BlueStone Ivory actually performing at Riverfront Stadium. Check it out. What do you all think? Comments at the end of this post are welcome.

               

There we are in our very stylish (pink) salmon colored corduroy vest suits and green paisley silk shirts. And check out our hair. We all had long hair then.

Here is a closeup of Me "Gary" toting our green paisley shirt and vest suit. This was a long time ago. I was around 18 years old then.   

 

Yes, that is Gary Rossignol. Actually my hair was quite short at the time. Eventually I grew it shoulder length. I was proud of those side burns though. Aren't those shirts hideous?

All I can say is...it's a good thing we sounded good. And that we did.

WE had a great couple of weeks...Now what?

We have had quite a busy first two weeks of 2009. We are taking a deserved weekend off and then we will be at Carlo & Johnny Jan 31st. So mark your calendars. More info to follow.

Two weeks ago we played at Jim & Jack's and had a great time. On Saturday night we helped celebrate Karen's birthday with her. She is one of our many very loyal fans and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to put her in the spot light. She is such a great sport. So we brought her center stage and we sang acappello "Little Bitty Pretty One".  

 

Also Saturday night we had a very welcomed guest, an old friend and past bass player with BSI, Bob Wilson. He called and told us he was coming down with some friends. It did'nt take much prodding to get him on stage to sing a few songs. He hasn't sung since the 4th of July when he sat in with us at Sharonville when Ted was recovering from throat surgery. Boy is Bob in good voice. He sounded great.

Here is more fun news for everyone. I have received so many inquires about when BlueStone Ivory will play somewhere in Northern Kentucky. Well here is your chance.

We will be at Shimmers Ballroom on Valentines Day. Saturday February 14, 2009.

Shimmers used to be Barret's several years ago. Then it became Terry's Sports bar.

Now Sandi and Gene Couch are the owners and have really made some great changes. We are very pleased to be able to work out a deal to provide this wonderful ballroom for a Valentines Dance just for YOU.

We will be there with Mr JD Hughes of WGRR and WARM 98 to provide non-stop music from 8:00PM till Midnight.

For this one engagement we are able to keep the admission at only $8.00 per person. If you want to come early and eat dinner...please feel free to do so. Shimmers Tavern is right next door under the same roof.

If everyone likes this place, and we will know by the attendance, then BlueStone Ivory and JD Hughes will plan special dances here several times throughout the year. We need a great attendance for this to work. Therefor it is up to everyone to let us know how we are doing.

Happy New Year everyone!

We are really looking forward to 2009. We are planning on some very special shows this year. We hope you all come out to watch and listen to BlueStone Ivory every chance you get. To start things off with a bang. BSI will be at Jim & Jack's this weekend. We really look forward to our weekends at Jim and Jack's. We have great crowds and have a lot of fun every time we set up and play there.

               

Here is a photo a fan took of us during "Pick up the Pieces" when we played there the end of November. We will be sure and play that song and many other of your favorites this weekend.

Many folks love to come early and order dinner. The food really is great. And the price is as favorable as the food tastes.
