Lee called me tonight. He has his contract, plane tickets and
is off to Florida and then the Princess Cruise lines for a four month stint at sea. He will surely be missed. However, life goes on as BlueStone Ivory turns a new page and welcomes our newest member. Mark Bertram.
Mark answered our ad looking for a bass playing vocalist in the City Beat magazine 7 weeks ago along with about 15 other inquiries. We whittled down the list to the top three and spent an evening to auditioned each of them. Mark really seemed to fit as a musician, vocalist and a really cool person. We feel that Mark will be making a great addition to the BSI family.
Of course there is a lot of rehearsing to do in preparation of our debut with Mark. That is why we have taken the next couple of weeks off. Marks vocal style is a bit different than Lee. There may be a few adjustments to be made. Nothing insurmountable though.
You will be able to hear and see the latest addition to BlueStone Ivory on Saturday November 21 at Jim & Jack's.
Mark is moving to Cincinnati from Indianapolis where he has called home for many years. His fiance Andi lives in Newport Ky and Mark had plans to move here to be with her. Mark still has a few gigs left with his band back home Cousin Rogerbut will be a full time BSI brother before New Years Eve.
Our Halloween party at Bar Seventy-One was a huge success. There were many fantastic costumes in attendance and of course BlueStone Ivory did there best to keep things going in the fun holiday spirit we do each year.
Friday night was our first time at Guys n Dolls and Mr JD Hughes was with us and again Saturday at Bar Seventy-One for the Halloween celebrations.
By the way Guys n Dolls was sold out thanks to you and we are scheduled back in January, February and March of 2010. Check our schedule on the website www.BlueStoneIvory.com for all the details.
The really big surprise was and check the photo and see what is missing. Gary shaved his mustache to play the authentic part of "Uncle Al". Wow! What dedication some one said. No, he is just a little nuts to shave that after having it for 38 years. Some folks say he looks younger. So at our age anything that helps is well worth it.
Keep checking our website. We will have our Halloween photos of all the characters soon.
If you haven't seen this video yet, it's a lot of fun. A little Farewell to Lee and also includes all the costume contest activity from the party at Bar Seventy-One.
Well, to wrap things up on this post I would like to invite you all to go to our website www.BlueStoneIvory.comand click on the Veterans Day display for a fantastic patriotic photo presentation our webmaster Ted has designed to honor all of our Veterans.
